Welcome to our Blocking Settings page for Fraud Categories support page. In this guide, we will explain how to use our dashboard to configure and customize your blocking settings for various types of fraudulent traffic, and why it's important to do so.
Our dashboard gives you the ability to toggle blocking for the following categories:
Configure the “Repeat User Clicks/Frequency Caps”
You can also further configure the “Repeat User Clicks/Frequency Caps” for the PPC-only category that flags users clicking on ads more than the pre-configured limit (default is 10 times per 24 hours). This will ensure that you are only blocking clicks that generate ad revenue, rather than blocking all traffic from repeat users. To do so, please select the “Adjust Frequency Cap” button.
After clicking the button, you will be taken to a new window where you can further adjust the settings for this category or easily reset back to the default settings.
This is helpful if you are finding too much traffic from countries that you are not targeting.
While you have the option to not block certain types of invalid traffic, our recommendation is to keep all of the categories enabled. This will ensure that you are blocking as much fraudulent traffic as possible, which will ultimately help to protect your ad campaigns and reduce wasted spend.
Lastly, our dashboard provides you with the ability to select the “Tracker Override” option. This feature allows you to select a specific tracker and individually select which fraud categories you want to block for that particular tracker. This can be useful if you have specific needs for a particular tracker and want to customize the settings for that tracker only.
To use the “Tracker Override” feature, simply select the tracker you wish to modify from the list of available trackers on the dashboard. From there, you can individually select which fraud categories you want to block for that tracker. If none are selected, the default settings will be used for all trackers.
By utilizing this feature, you can further customize your blocking settings to best suit your specific needs and optimize the performance of your ad campaigns.
Blocking fraudulent traffic is important because ad fraud costs advertisers billions of dollars each year. Fraudulent traffic can come from bots, scripts, or automated programs that mimic human behavior, or from people who intentionally click on ads multiple times to generate revenue. By blocking this traffic, you can ensure that your ad campaigns are only reaching real, human users who are interested in your products or services. This will help to increase the effectiveness of your campaigns and ultimately generate more revenue for your business.
